Are there any fees if a financed PathPay Insured policy is canceled?
Yes, if a policy was on a finance agreement and is canceled in Ascend, Honor Capital may charge a cancellation fee based on state regulations. This fee is outlined in the finance agreement the insured signs. Additionally, late charges may apply for missed payments, and attorney fees could be assessed if the account is sent to collections.
Late Charges: If a payment is overdue by five or more days, a late fee applies: up to 5% of the missed payment, capped at $8 for personal insurance (auto, fire, or liability) and $100 for commercial insurance.
Cancellation Charge: If a policy is canceled due to non-payment, a cancellation fee may apply. For personal insurance, the fee is the difference between the late fee and $15. For commercial insurance, it is 5% of the missed payment, but no more than the difference between the late fee and $100.
Attorney Fees: If the account is sent to collections, attorney fees may apply:
20% of the balance in AZ, FL, NY, MO, NV
15% in TN
25% in LA
No attorney fees in MD
