Overview

Outstanding balances can be the result of two cases:

  1. Minimum earned premiums not received for agency-billed accounts.

  2. Balances owed for unearned commissions on canceled policies.

When a policy billed using PathPay Insured is canceled in Ascend, the agency that placed the policy must return any unearned commissions to Pathpoint. Currently, agencies can pay back these unearned commissions through Ascend by logging in to their Ascend Dashboard and navigating to the "Outstanding balance" tab.

Agencies can pay back unearned commissions in the following fashion:

  1. Future Commissions Offsetting: Agencies can pay back unearned commissions using future commission payouts. Future commission payouts will be netted against the unearned commission balance until it is paid off. This is enabled for all agencies

  2. Individual or Batch Payments: Ascend lets agents pay individual or multiple balances simultaneously. You can read more about batch payments here: Agency Account Batch Payments
