Overview

Pathpoint offers general liability coverage, including products-completed operations for food trucks and mobile concession stands.

Coverages

  • General liability up to $1M/$2M

  • Products-completed operations included up to $2M

  • Inland marine limits up to $50,000 for any single item or $100,000 per schedule. This covers mobile food trailers and personal property, including inventory (food) and equipment not permanently mounted in the truck or trailer.

Available Coverage Enhancements

  • Inland Marine enhancements include Theft, Spoilage, and Business Income with Extra Expense Coverage

  • Contractor’s Equipment, which covers the trailer and any permanently mounted equipment in the food trailer (up to a $50,000 sub-limit)

  • Miscellaneous Tools, such as BBQ, grills, supplies, food inventory, signage, etc. (up to a $1,500 per item sub-limit

  • Any risk without auto liability insurance in place for the vehicle

  • Concessions at public events from a fixed structure

Common FAQs

If a food truck owner leases a lot and wants to rent out space to other food trucks, will you provide General Liability (GL) coverage for the entire lot as well?

  • We would provide a separate policy under our vacant land vertical.

Do you offer liquor liability for food trucks?

  • We do not provide a market for liquor liability. However, we can cover a food truck with alcohol sales up to 30%, provided that liquor liability coverage is already in place.

Do you provide commercial auto coverage?

  • We are not a market for commercial auto.

Can you provide property coverage for a mobile food trailer itself?

  • Yes, it would be scheduled on the policy under Inland Marine. If drivable, it would need commercial auto coverage as well.

Can you write for pickup trucks hauling a trailer?

  • No, that would not fall under a food truck or concession trailer.

Does general liability cover the area outside your food truck when it is parked for business?

  • Yes, the area outside of a parked food truck would fall under bodily injury.

If a food truck parks at multiple locations, which one should we use for the address?

  • We recommend selecting the location they frequent the most.

Is the physical damage to the food truck covered while in transit?

  • No, any damage while in motion would fall under commercial auto. General liability would kick in when the food truck is stationary or parked.

Which states do you provide general liability for food trucks?

  • We can write food trucks in all 50 states.

Are you also requiring the baffles between the fryer and open flames?

  • No, however all cooking exposures should have an automatic extinguishing system in place.

Are deep-fat fryers accepted?

  • Yes, that's an acceptable exposure.

Will your carriers add an Additional Insured CG 2011 for the leased area landlord?

  • Yes, they will add.

How do I increase the limits for Inland Marine?

  • Crum & Forster offers higher limits. Email your account manager or underwriter requesting higher limits from Crum & Forster.
