Overview

Pathpoint simplifies the process for agents to recognize when a policy is at risk of cancellation. Upon the issuance of a Notice of Cancellation (NOC), the policy status is updated to Pending Cancellation in red, and clearly defined actions appear on the dashboard to guide remediation. Once a remedy has been provided, your Service Representative will send a Notice of Rescission, and the policy status will be updated to Bound/Issued.

Cancellation Reasons & Action Items

Agents will see a Pending Cancellation status in-app for non-insured-requested cancellations. Upon clicking the status, you will be taken directly to the action item to remedy the issue and prevent cancellation. Below are the most common reasons for cancellation and what to expect for resolving them:

  • Nonproductive Inspection

    • Issue: Inspection vendor couldn't access the site to perform inspection after 3 scheduling attempts.

    • Action Item: Directed to Inspections page. You can click Request new inspection, which prompts a prefilled email to our Operations Team. Note, rescheduled inspections must take place before the NOC date.

    • Pathpoint Contact: Compliance Representative

    • Learn more about Critical Requirements.

  • Compliance Required

    • Issue: The inspection identified Critical Recommendations/Requirements or Discrepancies requiring compliance documentation.

    • Action Item: Directed to Inspections page. Upload Proof of Compliance within 30 days of NOC for Critical Requirements. For Discrepancies, you have the ability to dispute within 7 days.

    • Pathpoint Contact: Compliance Representative

  • Once compliance has been received, you will see the following update

  • Payment Past Due

    • Issue: Payment not received by the due date.

    • Action Item: Directed to Payment page. Submit payment within 30 days of NOC.

    • Pathpoint Contact: Service Representative

Once the Action Item has been addressed, you will see status updates in your Recent Activity, and the policy status will revert back to Bound/Issued.

Critical Carrier Cancellations

Sometimes, carriers will issue a Notice of Cancellation (NOC) for critical reasons, such as being outside of their appetite. In such instances, you will receive an email with a status update and a further explanation, with no action items required.

Notice of Rescission

Once the NOC requirements are met, our Operations team will issue a Notice of Rescission (NOR), returning the policy status to Bound/Issued. You will receive an email and see the policy status as Bound/Issued in the app.

For policies that are cancelled and reinstated, agents will receive a Notice of Reinstatement.
